Creator Policy

Everything you need to know about creating, earning, and growing on LaMoon.

1. Becoming a Creator

Any registered LaMoon user may upload videos and go live. There is no follower minimum to upload or to start a live stream. Monetisation features require completing Creator Verification, which includes:

  • A verified email address and phone number
  • Agreeing to LaMoon’s revenue sharing terms (Section 5)
  • Identity verification (government-issued ID) for payout eligibility
  • A minimum of 100 followers for live gifting payouts

2. Content Ownership & Licensing

You retain full ownership of original content you create. By publishing on LaMoon, you grant LaMoon a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and promote your content within the platform.

You warrant that:

  • You own or have rights to all content you publish
  • Your content does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights
  • You have obtained all necessary consents from people appearing in your content

3. The LaMoon Algorithm

3.1 How Content is Ranked

LaMoon uses a performance-based algorithm to determine content visibility. Live streams are scored in real time based on four weighted signals, with gifts weighted most heavily:

  • Gifts received - coin value of recent gifts from viewers
  • LaMoon taps / Likes - engagement relative to audience size
  • Comments - weighted by unique commenter diversity
  • Viewer retention - average watch time relative to stream duration

3.2 Discovery Tiers

Your live score determines your discovery tier and audience reach:

  • Spark: Content shown to followers only
  • Rising: Content shown to a small discovery audience beyond your followers
  • Hot: Content featured in the top Live tab row, reaching a substantially larger audience
  • Trending: Content featured platform-wide with push notification to all users

3.3 Video Distribution Funnel

Videos enter a four-stage testing funnel before receiving full platform distribution, advancing when they perform well with each audience:

  • Stage 1: Shown to a sample of your followers
  • Stage 2: Shown to a larger pool of interest-matched users
  • Stage 3: Shown to a broader category audience
  • Stage 4: Full platform distribution

4. New Creator Boost

Creators within their first 30 days receive the New Creator Boost:

  • A score boost applied to new videos during the testing funnel stages
  • Live streams automatically start at Rising tier minimum
  • A wider first-stage test audience for new videos
  • One automatic re-entry into the testing funnel for each of the creator’s first 3 videos if the video does not advance

5. Revenue & Payouts

5.1 Gift Revenue Sharing

LaMoon pays creators 70% of the net coin value of gifts received during live streams, after deducting platform fees and payment processing costs.

5.2 Payout Schedule

  • Minimum payout balance: $10.00 USD or local equivalent
  • Payouts processed weekly for the previous week's earnings
  • First-time payouts require up to 14 additional days for verification

5.3 Taxes

Creators are responsible for all taxes on their earnings. LaMoon provides earnings statements and required tax forms where mandated by law.

6. Anti-Gaming & Enforcement

To ensure fair discovery for all creators, the following are prohibited:

  • Coordinating mass-gifting campaigns to artificially inflate live scores
  • Using bots or third-party tools to inflate engagement metrics
  • Purchasing or selling LaMoon Coins through unauthorised channels
  • Creating multiple accounts to gain algorithmic advantage

Violations may result in score penalties, suspension of monetisation, or account termination.

7. Creator Support

LaMoon is committed to creator success. Resources include:

  • Creator Dashboard - real-time score breakdowns and funnel performance
  • Creator Help Centre at help.lamoon.network/creators
  • Direct creator support via Settings > Help (for verified creators)
  • Monthly Creator Newsletter with platform updates and tips

8. Policy Updates

We will notify creators of material changes with at least 14 days' notice via in-app notification and email.
